About Amy
At the heart of Amy's practice is a deep commitment to helping individuals improve their mental health and well-being. With over 25 years of experience in working with children and adults, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to each of her therapy sessions.
Amy is a BC Registered Clinical Counsellor (#3405) as well as a Registered Canadian Art Therapist. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT- including trauma focused; TF-CBT), Interpersonal Behaviour Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) amongst a host of other trainings. Amy has completed the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) training with the ChildTrauma Academy founded by Dr. Bruce Perry. In addition to this she has also trained with Dr. David Dubin of the Dubin Clinic in Los Angeles and offers Direct Low Intensity Neurofeedback as part of her counseling practice to those who are interested. Amy is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and uses this knowledge to teach Mindfulness Practices.
All these modalities allow Amy to tailor her approach to meet each individual's unique needs. She takes a holistic approach to mental health, exploring the interplay between brain function and behavior to help her clients achieve their goals.
